How to set blog search preferences settings

From year to year, blogspot has made a very interesting change starting from the appearance that looks simpe and elegant, also added with interesting new features and can help bloggers to manage their blog. There is one of the most interesting features in my opinion, that is, the features in the Search Preferences feature serves to make it easier for us in blog optimization, so we don't have to be busy anymore by adjusting the blog meta tag by changing the template code change.

Okay, this time I will explain how to set search preferences below

first log in to your blog account.

select a blog and select the settings menu

after entering the settings menu then select the search preferences menu (see picture) below.

1.  In the Meta Description feature,  select edit  then activate the Search description by selecting the " Yes " buton radio .
then you enter your blog description in the column provided with a maximum length of 150 characters, then  Save.

2.  In the error and redirection feature  , the Special Message for Pages option is  not found  to function to provide information on pages or blog links that were not found, and the special redirect option  serves to divert or incorrectly link pages or blog links to other links. we just ignore this feature.

3.  In the Crawling and Indexing feature   we can create a blog sitemap on the custom custom robots.txt option   automatically. This means that we do not need to ping the blog regularly, with a robots.txt adjustment for the sitemap, then automatically when Google crawls our blog all posts will be indexed immediately by Google.

How:
In the special robots.txt option  ,  select edit and activate by selecting the " Yes" radio .
then enter the code below in the column.

• Code for blog posts that are less than 500 articles

User-agent: *
Disallow: / search
Allow: /
Sitemap:   http://harwansinaga01.blogspot.com /atom.xml? redirect = false & start-index = 1 & max-results = 500

• Code for blog posts above 500 - 1,000 articles

User-agent: *
Disallow: / search

• Code for blog posts above 1000 - 1500 articles

replace the red url with the blog url that you have.
then  save / save.


To optimize the robotic header tags, make adjustments, there are several settings that you must do. that is, by giving a check or check on the archive and search pages. We do this to avoid duplicate content from the blog archive that we have.

Click Edit on the special robot header tag option  , then select " Yes ", then check or check the noindex and noarchive boxes on the Archive and Search Pages, to see more clearly the screnshot image below:

Note: On the Home and Default options for Posts and Pages, just leave the Google crawl robot free to crawl the homepage and single page on our blog.
